FRED’S RETIREMENT PARTY

After several years with Sound Transit and the railroad, Fred decided that the best way to celebrate his retirement was to build a tiny home with his friends and former co-workers.  You can see Fred’s “community” above in front of “Big Tree”, our 375th home.

COUNCIL MEMBER ANDREW LEWIS BUILDS AT THE HOPE FACTORY

Caption:  Andrew is all a blur as he proves that “Mississippi” is an action verb.

Seattle City Council Member Andrew Lewis and his colleague Tim spent much of last Saturday building and tilting up a tiny home at The Hope Factory.  CM Lewis, who is passionate about ending homelessness in Seattle and a great advocate for tiny home villages, told us that he is looking forward to  building more tiny homes with us “as the political climate around tiny homes is changing.”

Thanks Andrew.  We’ll save a hammer for you 😊.

FAN MAIL

Look what we received in the mail this week:

“ Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am writing to you from France to express my admiration and respect for your association “The Hope Factory”.  I discovered you in a report on Seattle from France 5 TV.  I was very moved by your initiative to build small homes for the homeless.   Thanks to you, people suffer less and regain hope in life.  What you are doing is so beautiful.  I thank you for that.  All this is done with love and sincerity, for the sole purpose of helping others.  May the Lord reward you for all your efforts.  He’s probably very satisfied with you.  I wish you the very best in the future and all those you help.  Be blessed.  I love you very much.

~Mr. Issam R.”
