Corporate Matching Funds

Women of Amazon, aka ‘Queen Bees’!

Each year, we receive thousands of dollars in additional donations to purchase building materials for tiny homes simply because donors like you take the time to direct their company’s corporate matching funds to Sound Foundations NW, EIN 85-3697725 – and it’s often as simple as filling out an online form. Thank You!

What are Corporate Matching Gifts and Corporate Volunteer Grants?

Corporate Matching Gifts are a type of philanthropy in which companies financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations, like Sound Foundations NW. Donations are most typically matched at 1:1, but higher or lower ratios are offered, too. Companies of all sizes start matching gift programs because it’s an easy way for them to support their communities and the causes that matter to their employees.

According to statistics, corporations give approximately $2B-$3B to nonprofits annually through their matching gift programs, yet an estimated $4B-$7B in available corporate matching funds goes unclaimed/ unused every year.

Corporate Volunteer Grants are dollars that companies donate to a nonprofit in recognition of their employees’ time spent volunteering there. Companies like Microsoft pay as high as $25/hr., so you can see how a small group of ten employees, volunteering for a six hour shift, could make a big difference: 10 x 6 x $25 = $1500!

Did you know?

Roughly 65% of Fortune 500 companies offer matching gift programs and 40% offer volunteer grant programs? And that over 26 million people work for companies that offer matching gift programs? Maybe you do, too!
